Over the holiday season, it is easy to lose track of what day it is in between the various Christmas dinners, New Year celebrations, Epiphany parties, and whatever else your family might do this time of year. I hope you were all able to take at least a couple of days to not only rest and recharge, but also to remember why we celebrate this time of year. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus, the Son of God. We are celebrating that he came to this world on a mission to save humanity from sin and death. We are celebrating that this salvation is offered to all of humanity. We are celebrating that God made humanity in his image and likeness, and that one day we will be with him in Heaven forever.

We have gone through two of the three major sections of the Creed dealing with the Father and with the Son. The final section deals with the Holy Spirit and the Church. The study of the Holy Spirit, ‘Pneumatology’ for the theology nerds out there, is one that I’ve found a bit more challenging than the others, so I will need to take a short break to read up and prepare before I can continue. Hopefully in a couple weeks I will be back to writing on the Creed. In the meantime, I hope to write about aspects of the Mass we don’t always notice.

Have a wonderful week!
